Inspiring Story

He stands serious and silent before the audience at South Korea's nation-wide singing contest. "I don't sing well. But when I sing, I feel like I become a different person!"

Choi, who is 22 years old, looks like any ordinary guy. He worries he can't sing. But he likes to sing. A contest judge asks what he does for a living. He says he is a manual worker. Laughter rocks the audience. Another judge prompts him to tell more. He begins to tell his story...

At 5 years old he was beaten and ran away from an orphanage. Since then he has lived alone by himself. He sleeps at stairs and public toilets at night. He sells gums and energy drinks on the street in the day. He doesn't go to school. For the past 10 years he has been living like that.

The judges nod their head in empathy. They say they would like to hear him sing. He begins to sing. And everyone was stunned to silence. The judges and many in the audience were moved to tears. What a voice!

An inspiring story! How could anyone not be moved? A real talent!
